The 6th Annual Hope of Autism Gala and Silent Auction
Was held Thursday April 11, 2013
At the Huntsville Museum of Art
Thanks to all who sponsored and supported our 2013 Hope for Autism Gala. The day began with severe weather threats but that did not deter the momentum of our event to benefit The Riley Center children. This was our most successful Gala raising over $40,000 in much needed funds.
Our host, Phil Schmidt, and our director, Melody Crane, spoke of the current epidemic levels of Autism facing our community and the world around us. The Riley Center serves as a beacon of hope to families who are faced with an Autism diagnosis. The sole purpose of this event is to raise funds to enable these families to receive the services their child needs at or below cost.
Amy Fruchtnicht, a Riley Center parent, shared her family’s journey through Autism. She shared about her son Brian’s diagnosis as well as the progress he has made at The Riley Center. For many in attendance her story sounded very familiar.
Several members of the local band, Toy Shop, gave of their time to entertain us. We danced and socialized to some original tunes and familiar classics. From the dancing to the dining the night was festive.
We wish to thank all who gave, volunteered, and attended our Hope for Autism Gala! Without your support the Riley Center could not exist.
We are grateful for our many Riley Center event sponsors. Thank you for your generosity of spirit! We look forward to partnering with you for years to come to provide hope to those touched by Autism!
